July 20, 2002 - Boston

Walked (most of) the Freedom Trail, which is marked with a painted trail on the sidewalk and takes you to Boston Common, the State House, Park Street Church, Granary Burying Ground, King's Chapel and Burying Ground, the Site of the First Public School / Ben Franklin's Statue, Old South Meeting House, Old Corner Bookstore, Old State House / Boston Massacre Site, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere House (someone was playing Bach on a hammered dulcimer there), Old North Church/ Christ Church, Copp's Hill Buring Ground, USS Constitution, and the Bunker Hill Monument. Long walk. We did not walk back.

About tombstones: hollowed eyes = mortality of the body; wings = immortality of the soul.
The New England Holocaust Memorial- each piece of glass had numbers etched onto them.
